Beautiful Barbados

My husband and I recently visited the island of Barbados, located in the Southeast Caribbean and part of the West Indies.  Wow! What amazing things we experienced.  The food was delicious and the inspiration for coastal art was off the charts. The locals were incredibly hospitable and friendly. They also kept us entertained with their engaging personalities and quick wit.  It seemed everyone we spoke with, no matter what their age, were quite educated and possessed a high curiosity to learn.  We snorkeled and scuba dived around sunken ships outside of Carlisle Bay, sailed Hobie Cats, and swam. I even walked the plank (and jumped) and swung on a giant rope swing (landing in a back dive), off a bonafide pirate ship. I got to hold a very cute green monkey.  The monkeys live wild on the island and are said to be shy creatures; although the one I held, "Loverboy Bruce", was very cantankerous.

We had a blast meeting new friends who regularly travel to the Caribbean as a way of life. Not a bad way to live! We've only been back home a day and we're already deciding on which island to go to next. Right now it's between Antigua and Grenada.  Who knows, one day we may live in the Caribbean, but until then, we won't run out of great islands to visit in the mean time.
